Information Technology Security Analyst

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES


Essential functions/duties of the position:

  • Work with domestic and international IT staff to design and deploy various IT solutions to meet business needs.
  • Designs global security solutions for all computer systems to prevent hackers, viruses, worms, spam and other damaging entries into attacking the company's data and private information.
  • Regulates passwords and access rules, defining specific access to network, files and database management systems.
  • Implements security software and its application to all storage device types and the access to them for classified and unclassified areas.
  • Performs computer forensic investigations for Security, HR, Legal and Internal Audit departments when required.
  • Establishes alternative security measures, if needed, to support disaster recovery efforts.
  • Conducts security audits for all other areas for Information Technology identifying vulnerabilities to improve the computing architecture including infrastructure, databases and systems applications.
  • Recommends and implements change to work methods and procedures to make IT more effective and to strengthen security measures throughout customer computer systems.
  • Develops risk assessments and information security training to uphold enterprise security measures.
  • Analyzes the work flow efficiency from and to the Internet, making recommendations to improve operation productivity.
  • Informs management of critical issues and computer attacks outside the company infrastructure that may affect client PCs and takes action.
  • Provides Officers/Executives with VPN secured access and data encryption into company network from outside the office.
  • Maintains contact with IT suppliers regarding security system updates and technical support of security products.
  • Support and maintain American Axle & Manufacturing Security Devices Mail Gateway, Firewall and SIM.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by monitoring issues through Remedy Help Desk system and providing timely resolutions.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED (R – Required, P – Preferred):

  • Bachelor degree in computer science or related field; or equivalent 10 years work experience in data security. (R)
  • Three years experience in data security systems with disaster recovery planning. (R)
  • Two years of supervisory experience with the ability to plan and control projects. (R)
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with the software development life cycle (SDLC). (R)
  • Highly developed communications skills, both oral and written. (P)
  • Highly developed level of interpersonal skills to manage and work effectively with others. (R)
  • Knowledge at the proficiency level of current IT techniques, client/server hardware, large scale database and data communications environment including information protection laws, regulations and compliance. (P)
  • Ability to understand, and clearly relate to other members of the organization, technical manuals, software specifications, hardware principals of operations, and general methods of systems software operations and security. (P)
  • Ability to communicate effectively dealing with internal and external customers and suppliers. (P)
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and be detailed oriented. (R)
